When we say we welcome everyone, we mean it!
From our denominational stances to our congregational practices we affirm people who identify as LGBTQ as children of God created as God intended.
Our congregation is in alignment with the work of More Light Presbyterians, who actively work on behalf of the LGBTQ community.
From the More Light Presbyterians’ “What We Believe” page:
Following the risen Christ, and seeking to make the Church a true community of hospitality, the mission of More Light Presbyterians is to work for the full participation of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) people in the life, ministry and witness of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and in society.
We know that while it is a liberal hub in a conservative region, Sioux Falls is not always the safe haven for LGBTQ persons we would like it to be. Know that we strive to be a safe space, an affirming community, and a place where all people are welcome to be fully involved from participation to leadership.
